Back!

From the real world and going to attempt to blog daily about my 'stuff' and my little family..

We had a new addition in august - miss Evie arrived on the 21st Aug after a SUPER short 30minute labour (yes that's half an hour from start to finish!)

She is now 4mnths old and chuggin' along nicely. Nice and chubby and is sleeping better now her reflux/colic has subsided.. :)

I have been busy with hairclip making for a variety of people who all saw some I had made for my own girls and placed orders.. photos on their way!

Must try and get some more blog land followers... :)

7th July

Finally had a chance to sew on the buttons for this jacket made for a very cute little girl in Perth. I adore the lining fabric. Hoping the new owner likes it as much as I do :) I love the pastel pink and brown combo of colours!

6th July

Does she look tasty? Zahli decided to climb up and sit on the chopping board to 'help' me make dinner last night so I quickly snapped a photo before taking her down for the 100th time ;) 'scuse the messy bed hair look she has happening!

5th July

This is the box left from my birthday present - a new mixer. Very spoilt! Joel was very against Kitchenaid as his work is the agent for them in SA and he is constantly fixing them... I am super pleased and adore using it compared to my old mixer. The girls are equally as pleased with the box that is currently residing in the living area and the girls take turns hiding in it or in Zahli's case - playing peekaboo out the hole Joel cut in the top of it. LOVE this photo. She looks so cute and funny at the same time :)

4th July

Spent this evening making this Wiggles Big Red Car cake that I donated to a fundraiser auction for the survivors of the Kinglake Community Bushfires. It was vanilla sponge underneath! The girls were rather impressed, particularly Zahli who was making car noises for a few hours after we delivered it to the customer :) Hope it went down well Tania and your son loved it! :)

3rd July

Happy 25th Birthday to me :)

We went for dinner at our local Italian Restaurant. Zahli LOVED her Strawberry Gelati - so much so that she just had to lick the bowl ;)

2nd July

It's my 25th birthday tomorrow and I have to bake my own birthday cake this year as Mum is too busy with moving house and working to make one! I have a chocolate mud cake baking away in the oven - my door is disgracefully dirty so I thought I better not post a photo looking through the glass *blush*

1st July '09

I have this lovely pile of fabrics sitting on the bench that a lovely friend gave me to make things with and my trusty scissors and pins. The red fabric on the right is my favourite!! Will have to make sure I update with photos of things I make from it :)

Project 365

I've agreed to doing project 365 starting as of July 1st (yesterday- whoops!)

Need to learn how to use my super dooper camera and remember to take photos of my kidlets regularly - So slack with two so I can imagine #3 will have even less photos!!

Christmas...

So I've been eyeing off an MP3 player for christmas for myself - need something to keep me a tad motivated when we are out walking as the girls tend to both nod off to sleep - epsecially when we are out walking in the afternoon.

Found this very funky looking one called the "Pebble" made by Samsung - I am loving the silvery coloured one - well most of the colours infact! For under $50AUD they are quite reasonable - especially when it is likely to end up being pegged across the room by one or both of my girls, and in Zahli's big gob being chewed on LOL!

After having a fairly major hiccup with the girls' planned christmas present of a wooden kitchen set ie. stove + sink. We had enquired a few months back at a local educational toy shop and was told to call in mid-late november as they would have more instock - well I went in and of course they haven't received ANY and they have NO IDEA when they are getting more :( They blamed it on the supplier - apparently is very sparodic and months between bulk orders arriving so no guarantee they would arrive in time... I am back at square 1 and our options are (1) Buy a cheaper version in the meantime until we can get one made for the girls or (2) just wait until late january and get the one I really want.

At this stage we are planning on purchasing from Encounter Centre , a couple of hours south o ADelaide. The people who make them are volunteers and the prices are almost half of most other suppliers. Makaia's birthday is the first week of January, so we will just play a belated christmas day when they arrive via courier.. The girls will get spoilt enough between the 4 sets of grandparents they have, plus other aunts and uncles

This is the stove i've picked out (I'm planning on buying similar saucepan set instead of wooden - easier to keep clean after mud-pie making)

And the matching sink - stainless steel bowl = perfect for 'cooking' as it won't stain! Bonus!

It took me SO long to decide which ones I wanted - I am not a fan of the ghastly bright coloured furniture for the toy room which is predominatley pink/brown/orange and want something that will be suitable for future children on the chance that we will have boy/s.

I can't wait for them to arrive now! Late january seems so long away. I have a whole heap of wooden kitchen accessories ready for christmas presents for the girls and am planning on making some pretend soft felt/fabric cakes and donuts for them with an online tutorial I found somewhere (will link once they are complete!)

So now I am on the hunt for some 'extra' christmas goodies for the girls (almost 3yo and 1yo) as the kitchen will be delayed... :( Would never have thought everywhere in the state would be sold out until after christmas, when christmas was over 6weeks away when I made the enquiries!
No idea what happened with the text at the end here (oops!)
